When it comes to wheel fitment practicality is at the bottom of the list. 
And they're Rota Grids.....that's probably one of the best looking sets I've seen so far, the white does a good job in making the spoke design better.

8 spokes.
7 spokes.
So, no, not the same. Unless you can specify the # of spokes you want when you order them.
