Where to take the lady for dinner? Upper Scale places
I eat pretty much everything there is. Just looking for something new to go to that is above your average restaurant. I agree Ruth Chris is shit, I was just referencing them for pricing.
Really just want something over Macaroni Grill/ PF Changs/ Bonefish etc. A bit more upscale then them.
Aldos is a great place, however they still just fit the run of the mill spot for me.

Timbuktu in VA Beach has the most awesome food and atmosphere!

I'm not gonna read the thread, but I take my lady to Bobbywood in Norfolk from time to time, usually hits around 150 or so on the check so it's not too bad for the type of place
melting pot is a safe bet but if you really want to impress the lady girl try something different......
theres a great thai restaurant in port warwick in newport news.
for dinner you might spend 35 bucks for two and maybe 60 buck if you go alittle overboard.
menu, restaurant, waitstaff, and food (especially the food) is top notch.
they also have a great sushi menu and if you like sushi, and know what good looks and taste like you will be a repeat customer.
like i said its different as in thai food but very very nice.
the place is called
thaijindesu
2180 william styron square
newport news
23607
i have a menu at home
heres a website
www.thaijindesu.us
the food is deffinately bobby flay type presentation, wine is offered at sitting, and the atmosphere is super comfy
recommended dishes are
duck basil (medium spicy ) 17.00
nua siam (medium spicy ) 14.00
holy basil (hot) 12.00
all ordered with beef except duck.
and ask for white rice to accompany your dish..... so you can definately clean your plate. its that fuggn good.
once you eat thai food in comparison with say chinese...... you prolly wont really care to eat chinese anymore... unless you like traditional chinese food.
if you order Hot be prepared to not be able to eat your food if you cant handle heat.
medium has a slight kick and is perfect since thai food mixes sweet and sour almost perfectly with spice.
I started dating a Asian girl who introduced a whole new world of food to me other than steak and potatoes.
if you were in fact single and took a chick to this place for a first date, ordered both yours and her dish...... no matter what your gettin it. guaranteed.
