Come Give Westboro Baptist Church Hell!!
When: December 1st 2008 4:30 pm to ?????
Where: Corner of Shore Dr. and Independence BLVD. (Currently working on parking, but will most likely be in the Food Lion shopping center)
What: Give these people hell, make it difficult for them to conduct their BS. Block out their signs with ours, make enough noise that noone can hear them.
Do Not Let Anything Get Physical Please, Noone Needs to Spend The Night In Jail
Who: Everyone, bring your friends, family, girlfriends, boyfriends, co-workers. Probably not going to be a safe place for your children, as I'm sure the language will get pretty nasty at times.
Everyone is encouraged to make and bring signs. Signs with "foamin" references are highly encouraged. Also, stock up on the aerosol boat horns
All area photographers are also highly encouraged to attend. Just in case these pricks claim someone did something to them, we are going to need plenty of photographic evidence that they are full of shit. Video/Stills/Audio. Also, need to make for one awesome Eye Candy thread afterwards.

In the other thread it was brought up about a permit, here is what I obtained from the National Lawyers Guild and the ACLU

to prevent rallies or demonstrations that are rapid
responses to unforeseeable and recent events. Also,
many permit ordinances give a lot of discretion to
the police or city officials to impose conditions on
the event, such as the route of a march or the sound
levels of amplification equipment. Such restrictions
may violate the First Amendment if they are
unnecessary for traffic control or public safety, or if
they interfere significantly with effective
communication with the intended audience. A
permit cannot be denied because the event is
controversial or will express unpopular views.

sidewalks?
A. Yes. This is an activity for which a permit is not
required. However, picketing must be done in an
orderly, non-disruptive fashion so that pedestrians
can pass by and entrances to buildings are not
blocked. Contrary to the belief of some law enforcement
officials, picketers are not required to keep
moving, but may remain in one place as long as they
leave room on the sidewalk for others to pass.
And last but not least, the most important pertaining to a counter protest.

rights?
A. Yes. Although counter-demonstrators should not
be allowed to physically disrupt the event they are
protesting, they do have the right to be present and
to voice their views. Police are permitted to keep
two antagonistic groups separated but should allow
them to be within the general vicinity of one

Corner of Shore Dr. and Independence? That's right outside Gate 5 of Little Creek Amphibious Base.. Is that where they are protesting? It would make sense, as aren't these the same group of individuals that would show up at funerals of service members screaming how the service member being laid to rest died because god "hated" them?
Sure I'll be there, I'm all for freedom of speech, but to say that my brothers in arms (two that I used to serve with) died because god hated them just doesn't sit right with me, so to over-noise them so-to-speak, yeah, I'm down with that.
