Ls with a wet 50 shot...

 

just got a b series hydro tranny, picking it up friday. Would this car be better for the 8th mile or the quarter mile? so the set up would be a b18a1 stock engine, with a hydro tranny with boost around 10-12psi in a gutted 92 hatch

 

btw, if its not a 92-93 motor, you will need to convert it to obd-0. Most hondas are going to show better numbers quarter mile, because they have much wheelspin, which may not let them get as good as numbers in the 1/8th vs. 1/4.

 

its a b18a1, i thought they came in only the 90-93 so it should be obd1 right ? i know where the stamp is on the engine that says b18a1 but is there a vin on the block that will tell me the year

 

90-91 = obd0 92-93= obd1
(You need obd1, or you will have to convert it)

im not sure. I thought there was something about the distributor having to be replaced and all that. I could def. be wrong, but someone on here will know.

 

i will def look at it, the car has a harness in it for vtec, now i need to know if it will work with the b18a1

 

This is not true...you guys are really not helping the OP at all. IT DOESN"T MATTER WHAT MOTOR YOU HAVE. You can make any motor go into any car and use any ecu you want as long as you either swap the plugs on the electronics, or use the electronics your car was (or is) wired for.

Your car is setup for OBD1. That means look for an obd1 dist, alt, etc.

As for your 1/8 vs 1/4 analogy...sorry bro it makes no sense. How can you compare 1/4 mile numbers to 1/8? With slicks and good suspension you can eliminate excess wheen spin.

 

the b18a1 is complete, has the alt all ready on it, and the dizzy. only think it didnt have was a fuel rail
