The theory behind stepped primary tubes is that the gasses are still expanding after they exit the exhaust port. So, increasing the ID of the tube a little ways downstream accomodates the increase in volume.

The bends are "crazy" in design due to fitment issues within the engine bay, and depending on the manufacturer, some are trying to achieve equal lengths in the runners causing the runners to be longer.

Even if it's not ready for the Sept 6th event, I'll be running it at New London and Natural Bridge in Oct/Nov. Probably Richmond too, I'll have to get some 1/4 runs in once I have the bugs worked out.
