I don't think anything got higher than the Jetta, but they weren't updating the board. Could of been something that beat it, but I doubt it.

for some reason I'm not a big fan of the front end.

The MK5 is the best GTI since the MK1/2. At first they didn't do anything for me, but I've warmed up to the design. It's clean and simple, can't ask for much more from an entry-level performance hatchback.
