Basically im looking into buying my first bike. I am into speed but that is THE ABSOLUTE last thing that i want right now. I wanted to get an AFFORDABLE, good on gas mileage decent looking bike , that will last awhile. As far as performance go im really not trying to die. I wanted some suggestions on what seems like a good bike for me...I honestly have never driven one...i have attempted to drive a motorcycle when i was younger and miserably failed. I do have experience riding dirtbikes though. I talked to someone who had a bike which caught my attention it was a suzuki gsxr, im assuming they are pretty expensive but i love the way we look. Need some serious help my budget would be like 1k-5k unless i could make payments which id be able to do around 200-250 a month.

Heres what i would do.
1. Take and MSF course. This can save your life.
2. Go buy a Ninja 250R the bike has been redone and it looks sweet. Practice on that for a season or two and maybe step up to a bigger bike like the GSXR600 etc. (also you wont have any problems selling it cause theres always someone looking for a starter bike.)
2a. Also the Ninja 650R is a nice starter.
3. Buy a good gear. and wear it. Don't ride with a t-shirt and shorts. Trust me it hurt when you fall.
4. Get some frame sliders.
5. Take an MSF course and don't try to out ride your guardian angel

Also if your in the 757 area. Dont buy from Casey Cycle City they will rape you in a heart beat. Trust me I know.

i wish the 250R had the same exhaust as the 650R... (the shorty)... If i ever, EVER get my GF to ride.. it'll be that.. 250 fo that ass

 

yoshi, dd and several other companies already make full systems and slip on's for the 250r. I suggest getting a 500r the looks might seem dated the the performance is unbelievable.

 

i usually recommend earlier honda CBR 600's but like already posted, the new and redone Kawi 250 is HOT.

sure you'll be clowned because its 'only' 250 by the gas station crew, but youll be saving tons on gas/insurance/tickets and hopefully wrecks because you can spend more time learing bike control than wanting to push the bike 100+mph.

im actually thinking of downgrading once again, from my SV650 to this 250.

 

Did you just put 500 and performance in the same sentence?? HaHa.. just kidding Grom. Although I think its your riding ability more than the bike that makes your 500 perform!!
