They don't respond well.

AMS tried their hands with one, they gave up. The ECU does some crazy shit. Supposedly closes the throttle body when your making too much power and stuff.

 

Hahah that's weird. But for a family-looking sedan that's AWD, 6Spd, and turbo, you gotta admit it's pretty neat! Especially since it's so unassuming.

 

Unfortunately the technology is getting "smarter" and "smarter" in modern cars.

I think there are a few companies out there that make turbo upgrade kits. Hell, I saw a few "stage 3" MazdaSpeed cars out there on YouTube.

 

true, it has nowhere near the platform potential as the evo..... but there has been success lately with tuning turbo upgrades, performance racing out of florida recently put down 325 with a gt3071r tuned with cpe v2.

the problem is that the car was only in production for a couple of years, and there isnt enough demand for performance products for companies to do substantial testing for them. some companies are slowly catching on and deciding to develop some products, so we'll see how things go in the next few years.
