true. but one can take a Cobra, do some work, have half the base price of the viper, and have a car that will go faster in both a straight line and in turns.

one of my friends bought an SRT10 truck a few years back. take a Lightning, add some boost, and it will absolutely kill that truck for about 20k less than the cost of the truck.

looks good, yes, but looks aint everything.

and i can fit my fatass in a cobra more comfortably than a viper.

That same argument can be had about just about anything though, you know? Like I said, I'm really not a huge fan of Viper's. I just think they look cool and they certainly aren't something you typically see everyday in Roanoke--especially in the new green color.

But seriously, this wasn't a thread about building the fastest car for the least amount of money. Most people don't buy Viper's to be the fastest shit on the road. They do it to get eye fucked, and that's fine--it's their money.

Besides, we all know that motorcycles give you the best bang for the buck.

Joey: Do you happen to know anyone with a notch for sale up there???

But then you'd be a in a Cobra, and not in a Viper. So no body would give you a second glance....well, only the the domestic guys.

Sorry, but i'd rather have a twin turbo Viper than a twin turbo Cobra. Just the idea of it is intimidating. Don't get me wrong, I like the Cobras, but regardless i'd take a Viper over one. Like Adam said, most guys buy a Viper for the looks and name, not to be the fasted guy on the block for the least amount of money....So that argument goes out the window.

There are 17 year olds running around here with Cobras...but I can't say i've even seen a 20-30 year old in a new viper around here...I wonder why.

So even if you owned a Viper you would get flamed on this thread. That is awesome. I love vipers. I would rather have a c6 z06,but that is just my opinion. Vipers for sure get more attention though.

Yes,
And I do love that most of the haters/flamers that make such bold statements do so out of spite for those that can afford or do actually own such a car. haha

some do, but for those of us that have either had the opportunity to or can purchase one, there are better things to drop that kind of coin on.

are they quick? damn straight. handle like a go kart? yup. able to blaze up a set of $400 rear tires in a heartbeat? fucking a. attract alot of attention? of course.

i'm sorry, but if i am going to have a quick as fuck car, it sure as hell will not be a one of a kind vehicle that everyone knows and can spot easily. granted, there was only one white WRX wagon around when i had mine, but there were enough 2.5TS wagons around from Carrilion that looked somewhat like it to justify.

of course, i am not one to have to have a car to make me feel good about myself, and unwanted attention will cause nothing but problems later down the road, whether it be cops, women, or jealous people.

thanks. a persons reasons for choosing a car are as varied as choosing a woman.

i personally do not like a viper one bit. they attract too much attention.

I hate to admit it, but that kind of bothers me to see people driving above average cars like a Lotus Elise (at least in terms of pricetag) and living in an apartment. I mean, it's not my money, but why not invest in a home? lol
