Noob question, roughly how much could one expect to pay for a 20g shotgun w/ a pistol grip (at a gun show)? Something basic for home defense. Suggestions from anyone? I heard a 20g doesn't really have all that much stopping power (using lead slug) but it'd probably be used by my wife (God forbid) so I need something she could handle, and she's tiny.

I picked up my mossberg 500 12ga with the pistol grip included for 260 the other weekend at hampton.

Used with some winchester ranger law enforcement buckshot it should be something that I think she could handle.

Yes. $200. And I don't care if your uncle's, cousin's, brother's, friend that has a gun shop in Timbuktu can get it for $179.

Moar!!!

Is it possible to be a ricer with guns?

Yes, I know "Pelican" is upside down. I'm lazy and don't feel like flipping it around.

Ehhh... I don't know. I still haven't decided if I fully like the new ones I just bought.

I was just joking around anyways. You just seem to have a tendency to always find me stuff cheaper after I've already bought it. Like the blued PPK/S, for example.

I didn't find it, Ashley did. Plus, I would support the local gun stores all day vs the gun show. Only reason why I picked up the .308 @ the show was because every local store was like "4 month wait from DPMS". Can't wait that long when I got $2000 burning my pocket.

I don't think a pistol grip would be a good idea for home defense... especially by the wife (unless she can beat your ass). Then she would be more of a man than you are, and anyway, that's a whole 'nother discussion...
Go with something that you can shoot properly and butt against your shoulder. Maybe a regular rifle or shotgun. And, any gauge gun will stop anyone (unless they have armor on, or there is just too many of them) as long as you buy the right bullets/ammo and get your aim on point. Hope this helps, excuse the sarcasm.
