Default looking at two setups for 600hp

i have two options for my current build up...just looking what others might think...which one is better...both of these engines would be at 600hp

2.4l redline at 7rpm or 2.1l redline at 11rpm

Whatever the fuck you are building with that kind of HP, I'd vote the one with 7,000 RPM redline making 600Hp/xxxtq just becuase it makes all of the power with a lower RPM then the bike red line setup.

I'm voting high-rev for this application - Time to spool being the key factor, and then how long you can stay before you shift.

pm'd
but yea keep in mind this is goin to be daily driven...i see both cons in this setup...for the 2.4l keeping the power on the ground is goin to be a lil harder than the 2.1l...and the 2.1l will be able to stay in gear a lil longer with 4rpms more...which could make a whole world of diff or not...

What kind of motor? IF you think you're going to daily a 600whp 4 cyl engine, you're on crack

He didn't give enough information about this setup really. He said both setups would make 600. Didn't mention key factors in turbo, nitrous or anything that may help spool time be quicker.

Size alone says it won't reach full potential before 6K RPM's at that power level. Basically, you need something bigger than a 60-1, which spools to 550 hp at 6K in a 2.4L with mild cams that tend to promote good spool..... (SRT-4, i.e.)

Simply put, it was an easy thing to figure out!

Not really. Having the potential to do 600 hp @ xx psi of boost, on race tune/fuel, doesn't mean you have to run race tune/fuel all the time. Most tuners and systems store multiple tunes. The street tune with much lowered boost, pump gas, and conservative settings, may be very street driveable, with a touch of a button, and a stop by the local Sunoco being all that's needed to really make it fun!

And, street/daily is a matter of what you're willing to tolerate. I know a handful of people who have no problem with 600+ hp cars for daily drivers. Even though it means having to tune the carb constantly, and they eat spark plugs like candy during cold spells.....

I also know someone on the other end. Having to change the oil every 3000 miles was too much work. Spark plugs, distributor caps, and rotor buttons at 30K....forget it! So, he has opted for something milder than a 200 hp car at this point!
