We're actually pretty damned safe here in hampton roads. We have about 1/10 the murder and auto theft rates of a lot of other cities, like Baltimore or Detroit.
753 auto thefts reported in VA beach last year (which I believe includes stolen radios and rims, but I'm not positive)- the lowest rate in the nation for a city our size. Compared to, say, Seattle which has about the same population as VA Beach, but had over 9,000 auto thefts. And Chesapeake is half the rate as VA Beach.

Agreed. Especially if they are already on the database for a previous charge. Everybody knows fingerprints are hard evidence, so I would assume even the dumbest theif would wear gloves.
I had a 4 wheeler stolen in October. The cops were like oh well it happens....
Kicker is it took 4 people to turn the thing sideways to fit through the gate (it was too wide to roll through). Happened between 3-6am. Have gotten reports from neighbor hood people that they have seen a kid riding it, etc. Cops won't do dick.
Sleeper cars are the way to go. Got the clean not flashy look going on with all my cars. But when the light turns green.....
Plus I have razor blades glued to the back of my radios and other key grab points.... those latex gloves won't last and their dna gets left behind
