lol there's nothing wrong for him to use his bonus money for down payment. Normally people just don't stop at 40k and spend it all and not bring in anymore income lol now thats what i call a total bum.

 

LOL...I know...I know this kid, he got 20,000 for being there, when he came back he bought a $14,700 watch for himself...

I couldnt believe that, I think he had 20,000 for maybe a month, and it was all gone, till this day still lives with mom and no job.

Even if you have a $40K downpayment (which they will take taxes out of) You'll still have to finance about $40K which you will never be able to afford on a E1-E3's pay

good thinking guys...i think i'm going to invest my money into stocks and let it grow....then when i get out and hopefully get a job raytheon THEN i can get a GTR or whatnot =D

 

Yeah the bonus they tell you and what you actually get are very different. Good luck and make the most of your experience.
