Alignment shops for lowered cars?
my car is straight slammed and i got it aligned at this shop on main st here in blacksburg, sorta up by that hess like you're going towards cburg. with enough 2x8's and some ingenuity (i.e. lifting up on the fenders to raise the car up an bit) we got it to work with very little issues.
years back i had my car aligned at the Firestone at Tanglewood Mall here in Roanoke.car went on with no problem,and they set the specs to what i wanted.not sure if the same guys work there or not.
i think the main problem is that most shops can do it,they just don't want to.i've had my car on several racks,but they didn't want to align it,since the suspension doesn't have a provision for camber adjustment,and the car would have 2.5-3 degrees negative.even though i told them i only wanted the toe set,they didn't want to touch it.
a couple years ago i just bought a Longacre toe gauge and camber gauge,and i've been doing it myself ever since.after about three alignments,it pays for itself.only problem is that it's hard to get the thrust angle right without a nice machine.assuming the car's recently been aligned on a rack(assuming no wrecks or suspension part changes that would affect the alignment) so that thrust angle is correct,you can work from there no problem.

Nothing irritates me more than some jack nuts standing over my shoulder.

Unless he invites you come into the shop area keep your ass in the lobby and watch the free satalitte tv.
Heres the deal though. Bring it to me @ Kings Tire in Pulaski and Ill align it to whatever spec you want. However if its custom specs I cant warranty the work (shop policy). But if its standard specs its fully warrantied.
Plus its only $34 -> 2 wheel & $49 -> 4 wheel alignment.

how do you know if your toe isnt way off? lol.
I cant stand it when people do that. If you dont trust the guy working on your car then do the work your damn self.

the shop i trust up here to work on my car doesn't have an alignment machine, so i had to venture out and if i don't trust a place completely i'm not gonna let them scratch the fuck outta my car getting it on a lift.
the bigger thing was getting it on/off the lift for me. not what the fuck he did while it was there or how he aligned it.

I will do 1 of 2 things to get a low car on our current rack:
1. lay down 2x10 boards to allow for a lower incline or,
2. take the bumper off.
Other rack was taken down because we are currently having a alignment pit put in, so you just drive into the shop and voila its on the rack.
