spring preload doesn't count as adjustability. damn near every shock on the planet has spring preload adjustment, it's just for compensating for weight, for the most part. (setting static sag)

o mybe.. thought u were talking about preload adjustment.. i do have sum other ones that dont have preload adjustments on them

there isnt any older shocks out in this time frame(70s-early 80s) that meet you guys "adjustable" specs.. probly go with a newer style shock but will kill the looks on the bike and they arent cheap and is going take sumkind of prefabing... unless u shell out the money for new aftermarket units..

if you change the lower mounts to a more standard eyelet arrangement, you can get all kinds of shocks in there. zrx1100/1200 shocks are NICE, and you can get them cheap on e-gay, but they mount with an eyelet top and bottom. i had a set on my xs650 cafe before i mono-shocked it.

sure do

that stud thru the upper mount got cut off, and the stock battery box went right in. that was a TIGHT fit, but it all worked well.

if it was a direct hookup to the swinger, it'd have to be where the battery is, but with the linkage, and the shock thru the swingarm, it fit undernieth, but BARELY.
