Default Tint Ticket Question

I got a ticket today for tint and I was told that apparently the fine for having a 3rd violation for tint makes the fine higher and possibly have to go to court. Is this true? I'm confused on if I can just pay the ticket or will I have to appear in court. Thanks

Just prepay it. I've never had to go to court for any of mine and I have like 4 or so.

hmmm were all your tickets in loudoun? The state trooper that pulled me over stated that I *might* have to appear in court or the fine is higher.

I know most the time they let you go in court if you show them a picture of your tint removed. But, I'm not sure if thats going to work since its your 3rd time.

i got 20% all the way around, next time be dumb like me and roll your front windows down so the cops don't pay attention to the front windows. That has helped me to avoid tickets. Well be glad the state trooper didn't hand you a razor blade and make you start peeling it off.

you should take change your front tint to like 32%, doesn't look dark at all. keep your rears at 20% and the front 32% you should be fine.

i had like 4 tint tickets on my hatch, i had like 10% all around when the police officer used their laser measurement thing. The last ticket the officer just said...hey man...this is your 4th ticket...each time the fine gets higher so just fix it and you can avoid paying the ticket when you come to court...showed the judge my reciept of the fixed tint and ticket was dismissed, in the end i did have to pay for having retinted, but i had been to the same tint shop for 6 cars, that the manager gave me a discount cut me a free removal of tint to help me out.

my 32% tint tho i must admit is much nicer...its much brighter inside the car and gives a better environment /feeling than when i had like super dark 10% inside.

eh, I've never had a problem with 50/35 but I've always had cars with black interior.

Two were in loudoun, one FFX, and one state police. I never went to court for any of them. Just prepayed, gave them their $80 or whatever it was and went on my way. All of the times I got pulled over was for tint only, wasn't speeding or doing anything to attract attention, just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The last tint ticket I got was two years ago, right before I sold my car. Haven't bothered to tint the windows on my current ride after all the hassles I had previously.

Btw, I had 20% tint all the way around.
