yeah i was running 195/50's on my old wheels and didn't have this problem.

if sparks don't fly, you're too high.

see my tires are already sitting maybe a 1/2 inch from my fender now. i'm also at -3 degs. camber on the front. when turning hard and hit a bump i rub them. so as it is i need to roll AND beat for these things to fit....whipping out the hammer tonight


EDIT: stage 1 beat in done. i've painted them to see if they rub still rub. it wasn't too bad. hopefully i won't have to go insane on the beating process.

Is it the inside of the fender or the seam rubbing?

 

it's like the side right by the shocks/struts. something is making me think it's time for some new struts

 

The struts mainly control the rebound. Replacing them probably wouldn't change compression characteristics like you might think.

Just do more beating.

 

hey i was wondering if i have a honda civic(96) w/ stock suspension would 17's fit without having to do anything to the wheel well area? would they rub ? im just curious cuz i want some 17's.

 

i'm tempted to maybe try a spacer....but i seriously only think my problems will be solved when i get less "beefy" tires. lol. i kinda thought i'd have a problem with the 195/55's. but i didn't know it would be like this.
