That information was helpful, and i did learn something the only problem with what was stated other than what B-well said is that i am staying with a D-series motor so i don't think that a LS or GSR tranny are going to help me at all.

But yeah B-well i will definatly be talkign to you at the winter meet, i don't plan on swapping a tranny until after then anyway.

hmmm lets put it this way i had a boosted d15b with a cx tranny from a 60 roll the car did well goin well over 120 mph burying the needle on the speedo..i thrashed the tranny in no time, had a tranny from a dohc zc sitting in the garage and put it in i noticed a huge difference in top end....there was none but getting there was was way quicker than the cx tranny BUT i had to factor in boost pressure also with the cx tranny i usually ran 10-15 psi on a STOCK longblock it did'nt last long but who cares it was fast when it ran okay im getting off topic. i could get to 120 mph faster on the zc tranny under lower boost pressures at about 9-10 psi i hated it though simply because the car itself topped out at 120mph it got there in no time but i did not track my car. i just hated the fact that 1st and 2nd were useless under under boost and third just spun halfway though so i geuss my question is are you tracking the car or daily driving? if daily with the occasional redlight fun i would say the cx still because even though it would one wheel wonder off the line third felt really great at high boost levels. but then again the tranny would not hold up very well and the engine not so much as well...but they were fun while they lasted...

Well, first off...the D series uses aluminum shift forks and are prone to breaking when putting down high end power. Not really the choice for doing high performance.

I would go with an EX or Si tranny as stated earlier for a few reasons. One, I'm sure you are not going to make this a track car for the reason astated above and that you could always do better with a B series.
Two, Because the EX/Si will be more suited to everyday driving...like coming off the light while not in boost makes for a better ride without sounding like you were at MIR.
...and third, where around here can you drive 150mhp anyways? Even from a 55 roll, you still want the ability to get in it quick and power thourgh to the next gear quick.
I would like to think that you would be smart enough to shut it down before 90mph on the street.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions, I do plan on using this as my daily, so i guess a ex or si tranny is what i am doing to have to try and get.

use the dx not the cx so you can maintain decent gas mileage in 5th gear

dx tranny good for boost? lol, ex/si is the best tranny...you can make that tranny exactly like the K series 6spd's 2nd-6th. with a nut hair longer first gear. either way, its great trany for up to a 10 sec car. ask the tranny guru on d-series.org BONE
