I have a nice car cover from California Car Cover that I use on 1 of my cars. The cover is a outdoor cover and works very well. My problem is that I have a neighborhood cat that likes to use the rear corners of my cover as a scratching post. I sent the cover back once already for CCC to repair the damages and re-enforce the corners. Now the cat is doing it again. I have another car cover that I was thinking of putting on top of my CCC cover to help reduce the damage that this cat does. Would putting 2 car covers on the car cause any damage or ruin anything? I'm also looking at getting some cat repellant to help the issue, but wanted to see if using 2 covers was also a option. Thanks!

 

I had the same problem except the damn cat would camp on top of my car as well. There is NOTHING chemical/deterrent wise that will work short of a dog / bullet in the cat.

 

Accidently spill a little antifreeze in a bowl that just happens to be by the corner of your car.

I would get a picture of the cat clawing my car cover, send a copy of it to the owner of the cat along with a copy of the bill to repair or replace it. Then after they decicded not to control thier kitty I would either trap it and drop it at the humane society or on a bad day leave it some food with a bit of antifreeze.

 

Problem is owners usually dont care or its a stray cat. I confronted the owner of the damn feline that camping on my car every night and the dude wasnt about to do a single thing. So in all reality the antifreeze is the best option.

 

My neighbor at my moms had up to 30 cats at one time I did not use a car cover and on the first night I brought my SRT home it was scratched to hell from one camping on it. The neighbor offered to buy me a car cover when I explained that wouldn't be all that is needed and she needed to control her cats she said they weren't hers she was just taking care of them. I paintballed,trapped,anitfreeze with tuna until she had about 10-15 left she got the message after trying to have me arrested and they couldn't prove anything cause they weren't her cats to start with haha ....
