Haha, ok ok. Good input so far. Trust me, I love 240s with the S15 front end conversion, which I could probably pull of for about the same price as an RX8. And if you could find me a 350Z or S2000 with the same amount of miles as an RX8 for about 14-15k, hit me up with that auto trader link, because you just found gold. Also, I thought the RX8 had decent pull, not nearly as much as the SR20, but I still thought it was quick. I DO know mpg blows dick, however. Let me know the truth people!

my friend has an RX8 I used to not like it at first but with a drop I think it'd be perfect. I actually am thinking about picking one up now haha

 

Do you only want a sports car?

 

They're two completely different cars, the RX8 is much more of a touring car, it has a much better designed suspension than the 240 and I can almost guarantee that you'll like the handling more. Remember the 6spd, and the interior is gorgeous

If you're even remotely into drag racing don't get the RX8. Its a driver's car, you won't like it until you have the driving skill to appreciate it. You can throw a big turbo on the 240 but you can't do shit to the RX8 for a big power upgrade without spending a lot of money.

For me its no contest, RX8 ftw.

 

Thanks for the research Khan! I totally agree, the interior on those are straight up sexy. Im not a big drag fan, im much more of a driving through the mountains on weekend kinda guy, so im not worried about being able to lay down a 10 second quarter mile. Id much rather have something I can play with on the weekends, but not have to buy parts for every time i hit the asphalt. Are SR20DETs diffcult to maintain?

And lostaccord, I am pretty much looking for a sports car, but what did you have in mind?

 

For the price of a swap, you could put an LSX in a 240 (V8). Hell, there's even a few vendors that make kits. Granted, I hear some of the kits aren't that great, but at least people are doing it.

 

An LSX swap? Damn...thats alot of power under that little hood. I didnt even know people were doing that. Id be kinda worried about things going wrong though, that sounds like a crazy engine swap.
