Since you were born? Doesn't that violate the child labor laws?

Good luck, though. We just started a business ourselves in January. I'm sure you are finding out just how much work it is. But, it's still great to be self-employed...

LOL! I'm sorry. I had to.

So, I really don't know anything about sealcoating. Is that the protection over existing blacktop or concrete? Do you do the actual asphalt?

Its all good. sealcoating is a coal tar emulison that is applied to the asphalt to prolong its life and make it look apealing. Asphalts have oils in the material and if sealer is applied correctly it will "seal" those oils in. My fathers company does the whole new pavement thing. I am also just starting to concrete sealents as well.

I should also add that there are other sealers beside coaltar, but I like coaltar the best. If applied and mixed right a job should last at least three years. This is not the stuff you get at some home depot or else were. There is also an asphalt emulsion that is cheaper but dosnt last aslong as the coal tar and thirdly there is some sealer called gypsy juice its the real shinny sealer that is most times very tacky. This is not doing anything but wasting your money. it just paints the blacktop black and in are state is illegal.
