Yup, started with an $800 '93 Talon DL w/206k miles and a clutch so burnt I could almost pop it with no gas and not stall :P . It smoked, and didn't go faster than 50mph. My brother (Spindrift) started with a $1200 '90 DOHC swapped 240SX from an auction and had zero problems. Motors Auction Group could be a good place for you to pick up a car. He or I never had a lemon from there.

 

Exactly.. I got a loan for my used audi from navy federal credit union for $22k in '04 and paid extra payments by working overtime to pay it off early (no penalties). Now that the car is paid for I can save up would be payments and buy stuff like $2800 six piston alcon brakes that I just got during the memorial day sale.

I laugh because there were tons of young guys in the navy with me years ago fresh out of bootcamp who fell for those "little creek road" car loan deals, and ended up having to pay the 20+% interest rates they signed for. Coming on here asking where you can find a deal like that is funny.. like a deer asking where the hunters are.

My first car in high school was a used '81 ford fairmont that I paid $800 for. It was a light blue grandma looking car that I got joked about but it got me around at the time.

look man, we understand youre young, and that you need to build credit....they arent giving you shit, theyre trying to help, and it seems like youre getting upset because you arent getting the answer you want. DONT get a loan over with over a 10% interest ra\te. you said you have a car to get you from point A to point B. Keep the car, or if need be, sell it and get another EF or EG civic for youre daily driver for a couple thousand, but everybody is just trying to help.

you dont want to be locked into some 23% interest rate bullshit, have to pay it off over 5-6 years, not be able to pay it off early cause of penalties, end up paying 5 thousand dollars more, and end up with, by that time, some 20 year old car you just paid $10k or more on.
