Basically to answer your question, yes they are very UNreliable. A 600hp RX7 is not going to be a reliable car. The plus side is that the motors are fairly inexpensive. They're extremely fun to drive though.
In my opinion, if you don't have any RX7 experiance, you shouldn't buy that 600hp car. I'd start off with something a notch or two lower on the hardcore scale. Actually, you could probably pick up that car and just have a lower boost, less aggresive map tuned and have a somewhat reliable car. It's definantly a bad ass car.

Im with ya, but I have to stay away from V8's for one more year (till im 25) because of my insurance, ive been a bad boy behind the wheel.

As previously mentioned I'd probly pick up a Vette, or if your more into imports probably BMW 3 series. If your looking for something 4 door i'd personally go with either a BMW 5 series or Audi a4/s4. Thats just me though.
