What's it doing when it breaks? I'm assuming you have longtubes. Heat?

Naw, its not heat, plenty of clearance there. Starter comes loose one time, ate the flywheel, lock tighted the bolts and then it broke the housing on the flywheel...

richard,

i have the very same starter on my jank (the one with the adj mounting housing - for block clearance ) and have not had anything like this fortunately.

maybe a bad starter?

*ding ding* - random idea just occured.... are you using a chevy trans/bh and such??? i wonder if you are having issues with clearance by chance? maybe the fw sits too close to the starter (i know this b/c my flywheel was rubbing my starter housing until it wore enough away to be ok)

bad luck thou bro. hopefully you get things figured out.

(and pm me some details... im real curious on new setup)

This is the White car.... Hollys...

Its a 418 CI Windsor with a C4...

Its killing me....

70's Block
PA SUper Comp C4
JW Ultra Bell for 157
TCI 157 Flywheel

Cant get the crap to work right.... Does ok, then acts up. I am wondering if the convertor has a low spot on something on one of the lugs making it wobble?
