After driving cross country in 4 days I can't imagine doing it that quick on a bike. Those Iron Butt guys are truly hardcore as the record from Alaska to Florida was a lot shorter than what I could do driving cross-country with a co-driver. As soon as I can find a stupid job I'm riding out to Washington state and taking more time than 4 days to do it. CO is one stupid long day of riding and 1 long day of riding. It would be a beautiful ride if it wasn't for kansas, illinois and iowa

I have ridden my mountain bike set up for touring across Virginia and Kentucky in 10 days. I was averaging something like 80 miles a day.

haters....

lol, it's 26 hrs, it's not that bad.

btw, i'm back.

a few notes of the trip:
kansas sucks
don't kick the tumblweed at 80+
prarie dogs don't move very fast
fuel maps tuned for sea level don't work worth a damn in the mile high city
denver probably has more mexicans than mexico
st louis has some damn good stunters
crop duster pilots have a good sense of humor
