putting 13k down on a car, is ridiculous and stupid.
At most put 6k down and save the rest in your account.

The WRX actually took the MS3 in the 1/4. With less tq and alot less hp.
Mazdas design for the tmic is also ridiculous becuase the ventilation really isn't that great.
It did take it on the course by a little however.

I bought my Legacy instead of the Mazdaspeed 6.

However, the MS3 is extremley nice, and if it came down to a wrx and a ms3. Chances are I would get the mazda.

Because you can invest that money and make more money with it.
I think you only get about 10-20 a month off your payment for every 1k you put down.

ROFL...

Also if you have 13gs... why put yourself in debt with a car loan?

You could get a pretty nice used car for right around 5-6gs that will be just as fun. Plus you will only have to get liability insurance since it wont have a loan out on it. Plus you can save that monthly car payment money for later.

Depends on your rate. Capital One's lowest auto finance rate right now is 6%, and that's for perfect credit. Assuming you've got that - your investment has to yield at least 6% plus any commissions you incur in the process. You've also got to assume that the money is actually going to be invested, which may or may not be an open question for the OP. Since the OP has to co-sign, I highly doubt he's going to get the lowest rates. In that case, yes, putting more down does make sense, because as you get to higher interest rates it becomes tougher to actually return enough to beat the interest savings.

But yeah - OP, if you've got 13k to spend, I'd look for a car that's just as fun elsewhere that won't put you into debt.

Seriously... you really want a car payment for 4-6 yrs????

that on average 350 a month plus insurance..that like a 100 on average a month

so your looking at with gas 500 a month constantly going for a car which does nothing but loose value???

I hate having a car payment...the only reason I do is I didnt have that much money saved up and I need a bigger car since Im getting married and plan on keeping it for a long time.

As a young kid your most likely going to want to sell it within 2yrs if not less and if you buy brand new your going to loose your ass on the depreciation of the vehicle and all that 13gs you put down will have gotten you nowhere.

You should see what came stock on the Mazda Speed protege. The front area of the stock side mount was about the size of 2 dvd cases. Upgrading to an aftermarket unit has been the single best mod yet.
