You have to remove the dust shields. You dont need them, air passing thought the ducting blows all the dust out.
I've seen brake duct kits with modified "dust shields" that let the duct attach to the spindle and direct all the air to the center of the rotor where it needs to go. I only ask because it seems like a good idea but I've heard of people having a hard time keeping the duct attached since things move.
