explanation of B series motors
Yeah there are a few turbo hondas that are beast, but there are a lot that don't run right and break a lot.
Just to help answer your actual question about engine code and what not. the B stands for the series of motor, B meaning dohc. The next 2 numbers is your displacement. and the next letter (and number on USDM motors) is associated with the head. Only B-series motor you have to worry about the last letter and number is the B18, sice you ahve 3 different types, LS (non-vtec)B18AorB, GS-R(vtec) B18C1, and Type-R (vtec) B18C5.
this is nothin but the truth, if you got 8 k laying around just for a k swap in a crx then go for it but as for that goes a turbo B-series will get the job done. ITS ALL IN THE TUNE!!!

there's a lot of B.S. shit talking in this thread... fact is A LOT of idiots have hondas... and some smart guys do... so A LOT of turbo hondas dont run right because the idiots working on them dont know what they are doing and usually drop turbo in and know nothing about tuning plain and simple. if more guys owned nissans you would see more turbo nissans that dont run right... but hardly anyone owns them... be real about it.... there is a reason everyone wants a honda... they are better looking, more fun and easier to work on than anything (within reason)... so good luck...hope you have that 3k to get you started on your way. you'll be killin V-8's and S14's in no time!
