So, my parents are considering buying me a cheap 50cc for christmas or atleast pitching in for a nicer one. Their limit is approx. $250. I know which one I would really like, which is the honda crf50 but I also know that I plan to just beat the shit out of whatever I get and pretty much just dick around on it.

My question to you guys is how bad are the ones on ebay for about 300 including shipping and how bad are the ones at pep boys that are 500 before tax? I like the hondas but I don't really want to spend that much on something that I know is going to get torn up. Suggestions?

 

if your plan on stunting it... go honda... if you get an off brand they fall apart

 

yup, the quality just isn't there in those cheap knock offs. plus, they may be $300, but you're gonna need another $250 at least to ship it. with that much money you can almost buy a used honda and beat the crap out of it. xr/crf 50's don't break, period. my old 50 spent probably 90% of it's time on the back wheel, never had ANY problems. my old nieghbor had a cheap knock off, broke at least once a day, if he could keep it running.

 

I agree on the quality. I have an 86' Honda Z50 and its still kicking ass, twin rear shocks and all.... I also have a friends pocket rocket (atleast whats left) He had one of the more expensive 110cc ones and it was still junk.

 

Dont buy an internet or pep boys brand. You will need a CRF50. No matter what you are going to use it for.
