If it's going to be on a weekday, I'd rather it be sometime in between Christmas day and New Years day. If not, a weekend is fine.
Have you looked into Wintergreen? I think it's a better resort and is just as close, if not closer.

yeah whether its wintergreen or mass, the wife and i would love to go. lets start a list in the first post of people who will confirm they will be there. i would hate to show up somewhere after driving 3 hours and only 2 people be there.
