I think you are right. Now, I just need some help with the wiring. I am willing to compensate a reasonable amount. Any takers. I am looking at having a motor within 3 weeks. Do I need a tranny too if I get a 1st Gen Motor?

The money it takes to build a honda block to hold 400 whp reliably is enough to where you could put a stock gst into the high 12's. Then, turbo kits & s/c setups have skyrocketted so fuckin much because of all the little punkass kids jumping on the honda bandwagon wanting them. B-series motors are getting harder to find, K-series is still 6k plus for a good swap. Still, hondas are great, but the money it takes to really make one fast and run great & be reliable blows my mind. I get sick of driving shitty small hatchbacks that look like ass to begin with just so I can beat the power-to-weight ratio. And, what is even worse, is that for every descent looking hatch I see, I see 20 others that look like shit. I am sick of the ricer boy profile that comes with hondas. I like hondas & they are what I know. WHY THE FUCK CAN'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT I AM TRYING SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Besides that, I just paid 3k for something. I am not going to just call it a loss. I'm gonna put a motor in it and make it blow the doors off your half painted honda.

1. Ive never owned a honda

3. Ur not doing a damn thing different. Ur gonna throw gobs of money at it in hops of it being Mad TytE!. Its gonna break and ur gonna be pissed. FACT

I do appreciate the advice. Fortunately, I am at a point in my life where I am quite financially secure. I doubt it will be seeing jackstands for too terribly long anytime soon.

look man just find a used motor from someone that you deem trustworthy. i have never been a fan of the "jdm" route because they don't offer anything special over the USDM motors, and they are stored for long periods of times in less than ideal conditions. think of it as paying a shit load to buy a motor from a junkyard.. check the dsm forums and find yourself a good deal. 2.4 in a gst=zero traction. never been a fan of the 2.4 on a fwd gst. way too much torque.
oh and by the way it takes WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY less to build a dsm to run 12s then it takes to have a honda block hold 400whp. WAY WAY WAY less. it can (and has been done several times) for less than $2000. good luck building a 500crank hp honda for that much. good luck building a 200hp honda for that much..

Good point.

I have nothing to add to this page, but I just thought I'd say that.

I just fell in love with a 2nd gen Gs-T.. it was bone stock and it was so much fun to drive.

wow, we need more members like this guy. seriously, This guy just became one of the most respectable members of drag in my opinion, with this post.

The 2G trans will bolt right up. You'll need to shave off the counterwieght though. the JDM motor still will require the same things as the "1G in a 2G" swap. It's a little tricky, but in the end it's a very cheap, reliable, route. You will have to do a little bit of wiring, but it's not too difficult. Myself, nick (Hybrid AWD), and Devan (G S X) are all pretty familiar with the swap. Hit me up on AIM or something if you want to bypass the idiots on here with a good question.

thanks for your understanding. I am ready to buy a motor within 2 weeks now. I'll get a clutch/flywheel combo too to go with the swap. I don't want to have to wait to have one built unless I have to. I am going to go hand pick a motor from one of the places listed below, probably jemco or noyan unless someone tells me different or I call them and they don't have anything when I am ready to buy or their prices are ridiculous when I call. Hopefully find a 16g...

Do any of you guys have any longblocks laying around or know someone with one sitting? Preferrably one you've seen run. lol
