need work? (again)
ok, only because i see this happen alot, take it for a ride with the gas cap OPEN, and see if it still does it. i've seen alot of bikes, especially those that have been painted, get clogged fuel tank vent lines. what happens is the bike will run fine for a while, but with a clogged vent line, the tank gets a vacuum created inside that limits, or shuts off, fuel flow. sometimes the vacuum will release for a second, if the clog isn't too bad, and the bike will run fine for a few until the vacuum gets too great to allow fuel flow again.
if that's not it, check the petcock. is there a "prime" side on the petcock? if so, that should allow fuel to flow no matter what, even with no vacuum at the petcock. try riding on "prime", an see what happens.
that's the easiest stuff to try.

damnit damnit damnit...
just got back from court... not getting into the details... all i have to say is....f*** the system.
i'm screwed (but at least i'm not in jail). i need to make money quick, so if anyone has ANYTHING they need done, please let me know. if it's got a motor, i can work on it.
lutex- i have to go talk to my lawyer today, probably be there a while, but i promise i'll get your bike done this week. the motor is just about done, just have to set the timing and button it up, and you will be good to go
shane- i got your cylinder back from the machine shop, i'll have your xr done before you leave (and your lawnmower too, lol)
r6buttercup, if you want me to come out to the bbq and do all your service work, you're gonna have to find me a ride, cuz after today, i'm not driving anywhere. if you want to bring it to me, that's cool. just let me know, we'll work something out.

Steve, I have a lawnmower that wont start. Last time I used it, it was fine. Now, it won't start. Any ideas? How much to look at/fix? I just replaced the sparkplug, oil, air filter, and blade the week before it stopped working.
what's with everyone's lawnmowers?? lol.
yeah, i can take a look at it. is it a riding mower or a push type? i'd have to take at least a quick look over it before i could give an estimate though. there's just to many variables in "not starting".
Yup, already tried that on both counts. I've had both those issues in the past, so I figured it was a vacuum lock. I can't find the variable. It happens full of gas, low on gas, run empty and filled back up with fresh gas, with the petcock on prime, run, or reserve (though reserve hasn't worked for a LONG time, so I wonder if the petcock has given up the ghost), the vacuum caps are on the carbs and I don't see any pinched lines, and the manifold boots were just replaced with new Suzuki parts. Shit's irritating! Thanks for the tips...if I can find the time to get the bike to you I may bring it to you next payday. I don't have time to wrench AND ride, and I'd rather ride while the weather is good!

Replace the coil wire. Just had a similar problem with mine and ended up having an internal break in the coil wire. The sheath looked fine, but the tip had separated inside the boot, so even though it was clipping to the plug, there was no spark.
lol, it's all good man. let me know when you want me to check out the bike. things like that are easier to diag when the bike is in front of me. the easiest way for me to figure out the problem is to take the bike for a ride, and get it to do whatever it's doing. that way i know EXACTLY what the problems sound/feel like.
