Remarkably, even when I had that ATR exhaust on my car (the loudest I have ever heard) I never even got looked at twice in my car...

Because it doesn't sound like your typical 4 cyl.

3" turbo-back doesn't warrant any problems for me, ever.. It's quiet unless you're really WOT. Has a little growl to it, but not loud and obnoxious at cruising speeds or anywhere in the powerband other than WOT.

the main thing i've noticed is it seems the looks of the exhaust get just as much attention from cops as the actual sound does.
i used to always get hassled when i had the Super Dragger exhaust on my car(yes,i was a ricer ).it wasn't loud at all,but it was very flashy, and at that time, cops weren't used to seeing Hondas with honkin exhausts.i got around 15 tickets with that setup.i switched over to a full 3"(3" downpipe,no cat,no resonator,to a 10" long bullet muffler.talk about loud!!)exhaust when i went turbo.with the muffler painted black,no tip,but outrageously loud,i never once got hassled.the exhaust i've ran on my daily driver for about five years is pretty loud, but again it's no tip and a black muffler, and i don't get any problems.
speaking of WRXs,Scott in the past few weeks has gotten pulled a few times for the SSAC exhaust on his car.his setup is a catless up-pipe and downpipe,to the straight thru 3",with a huge,polished,N1 style mounted can.it IS the loudest exhaust i've ever heard on just about any import.i welded up a new rear section for him using a Greddy 3" SP muffler, and it's mounted like stock so it comes straight out as opposed to the cocked sideways old setup.it's almost as loud as the old muffler, but no hassles-i think it's because it looks stock.

Yeah. My exhaust looks PRETTY stock. I'm not really happy about the way the single tip sticks out, and it took some work to get fitment as well as it is, but it looks pretty stock. No big gigantic chrome/polished canister or anything. Black is the way to go if you don't mind painting new parts. It's worth the trouble.

btw, saw your hatch (I think) at Walgreens on Williamson/Hershberger about a week ago or so. Forgot to ask if that was you.

Garner? Tell that fucker to get online. I sent him a pm about two weeks ago and he still has not checked his messages yet.

And I have to agree that it is the look of the exhaust that attracts the officer more so than the sound.

What the hell are you guys talking about? Wasn't this thread about "Tool"? You guys are talking about cut-outs and exhaust...
