Default Cummins problem..

Took my 02 3500 Dually to a job site, and i went thru a mud pit, and i didnt know how deep it was and the water came up to my door handle, and i got most of the way thru, and my truck jus shuts off.

Pulled it out with a tractor and tried to start it, but all im gettin is it will turn over, then followed by excessive black smoke and then it sputters right out.

I have 0 clue what it could be...

sounds like you slurpped some water/mud into your engine. I wouldn't keep trying to turn it over as you could potentially do more damage. check your intake and turbo for water/mud.
