ive been lookin at motors for a while and i keep seeing the jdm d15b with dual vtec. can anybody explain wat tha hell dual vtec is??

 

Something made up. I thought at first it was someone fucking up DOHC VTEC, but D series are SOHC. Its just someone not knowing what the hell they are talking about.

 

A D15b Is the SOHC vtec JDM motor, I have never heard of Dual Vtec so if it's a site that sell's motor's I'd advise you to stay away from them, becuase they probably don't know what they are selling. Are you lookin for a Swap will?>

 

there is the whole vtec-e thing... but i don't see how its possible to even think that putting vtec, and vtec-e in the same engine. some one is bullshitting you my friend.

 

yea i kno that the d15b is a SOHC but the title for the motor didnt say DOHC, it said dual VTEC. im thinkin it might be some kind of wierd setup for 2 VTEC solenoids but all i can see dual vtec doin is makin vtec on all the time. but i dont know thats why im trying to see if anyone actually knows wat it is.

 

It would be pointless for VTEC to be on all the time.....I mean Who really wants their car on a high cam lobe profile all the time anyway? and I dont see how there could be two vtec solenoids?? Send me a link or something to where you see this will!

Screw That.....Will If you can Afford B-series and you want VTEC....get a B16a.... and if you can only do the D15b or want to go with that one.. order from www.hmotorsonline.com they are reputable and know what their selling
