My $500 S13 has an engine that will hold up to 650hp on a good tune.

 

i could buy a whole lot of used cars. brand new. like my 98 ford zx2 that i'm dropping in a used srt4 engine into 2200 pounds and 400whp

 

we where talking about a scion not a s13. and does your car make that power and why not.

 

It makes ~425-450Rwhp in it's current configuration. The mods cost a total of 2900.

 

And then you started talking about what the engine could handle. I was just letting you know that I'm not that impressed.

 

Well, you already see I don't talk bad about most V8's...they tend to make more power

 

Last I checked, you need to be very careful about sr20's when you buy them, seeing as they probably recieved alot of abuse before coming to America. I bought my car with a engine I knew had no issues. And realisticly, when it comes to whatever vs. the dollar, I'll only compare brand new.

 

Last I checked, you need to careful with any motor, especially one that you modify.

Given the comparison of new cars, I'm not saying that SRT-4's aren't a good value.

I'm saying that I'd never buy one because I'd never pay 25k for a neon.
