He didn't want to know about any FI cars. If you can show an NA tC making 500hp, I'm sure he'll get one.

And I'll be more than happy to take out 4 plugs and see what my car does, but you have to take out 1 of your cams.

okat look yes i like the tc very nice car.i never said that a srt-4 is not capable of making that power.i am very good freinds with two srt-4 owners darrel cox and mike crawford of darrell cox racing and phat rides.so i am very aware of the power thet are capable of.i also worked at speed unlimited in morningside md for years and worked along side of owners of fast ls-1s cobras you name as well as the endless customers with the same.so i am very well educated on both side of this fence.. and me personally i think it is more impressive to see any 4cl(tc srt-4 civic)you call it run as fast or faster than a 4.6 or larger v8 period all i am doing is giving the kid an idea of what the car can produce and give him "advise"on the car he asked about which is a TC not ls1 or srt-4 if i recall the thread said scion tc last i checked

For what its worth, I have a Modded Scion tC... It don't stand up to several of the other 5 cars in my garage as far as HP goes... however I LIKE the car alot and find myself driving it more than the other cars I own... I have cars ranging from Rotory, 4cyl, 6cyl and 8cyl truck that used to run 14s.. I can tell you right now, with the raising gas prices, I am very happy to own a modified Scion tC getting 32mpg and still beating alot of comparable hondas...

where did you see this? I just know of just one with 533whp and it's fully built with a GT3040 turbo, iirc
and they are already using a full race exhaust manifold

You said it couldn't make that kind of power with 5-6k invested in it.

That may be the case, but with the 5-6k that you invested in the 4-cylinder motor, putting it in the V8 would make it much faster. Just to say "you should buy this stock car because, someone, somewhere with an ungodly amount of money got one to peak near 500hp" isn't really a fair depiction of what he wants from a car.

Gas mileage with today's V8's is a moot point. All LSX motors (that's LS series motors like LS1, LS2, LS6, etc for you noobs) are getting anywhere in the range of low 20's for city and high 20's to low 30's for highways. With the 6 speeds that is which is what I own.

Hell Cobra4b got like 500 miles to a full tank of a gas on a trip he went on and had 400RWHP on tap all the way there in his Z06.

And just to think. That's using engineering from the time before your parents were born.
