And then someone w/ a v10 gets jealous that a 4 banger is a full second+ faster than they are, and has to point it out and say they are boasting.

It was for conversation.

CobraB4 I agree, a nice set of DR's wouldn't hurt a thing and def. make the difference in breaking high 11's.

FYI stock SRT-10's run 11.7's at 120+, takes the right driver, but they're solid 11 second cars.

and the neat part is, is that I'd rather have a 11 second Viper than a 10 second *insert 4 cylinder powered car here*

I'm guessing you read that in a magazine, motor trend perhaps? I have never heard of or seen a stock viper on the factory tires even get away from a low 13 or a high 12 even with an experienced driver. If you think about it realistically, a car with 525 ft/lbs of tq will not do so well of a 60', I'm sure it has a decent mph, but if you use common sense, the 0-100 just isn't there.
And if you want to read those completly inaccurate magazines, you will find the 2004 srt-10 rated at 0-100mph just under 13 seconds.

Well then I hope you never chose to take up the sport of drag racing.
If I had $80,000 to throw around, I'd much rather have a $4,000 CRX that runs 11.80 on a stock 4-cyl than a 500hp car that wouldn't find traction until that crx has about a 2 second lead and pulling strong. And I'd still be walking away with $76,000 in the bank. Some of us like to build what we run, not buy it built for us.

If you are talking about just your every day car you drive to work, then I would pick the viper too. I think it's a beautiful car, and have always thought so.

Amen.... Also I was there the night your buddy broke 11's. That car is disgustingly fast. I was behind him in the staging lanes and then my car broke, lol.
