they break from time to time, but i've never ever heard of one falling off... and i had a friend once that had 10 teeth left on his 40+ teeth rear sprocket, it jumped teeth like a bitch but never even came off the sprocket

poor bastard...what kind of chain was it? was it bling bling? mad ice on it? i would've picked it up and taken it to a pawn shop...must be loaded to put a chain on a bike.
