Parting a running 86' RX-7 in NoVA
I just started parting my 86 out. I got this car last month to fix and build for autocross but it's too rusted out, I'm parting it becase I got a GTUs for what it would have cost to fix the floor. It's got a rusted floor and the interior is shot, but the drivetrain and running gear is good.
The engine and tranny probably have between 170K and 180KMiles on them. The speedo cable broke at 155K.
The engine runs great and pulls hard, and the car chirped 2nd.
The engine smokes a little on startup- the coolant seals could be failing, but it ran fine, started up every time(never flooded) and the 5th and 6th auxilary ports work. The clutch is only two years old and bites good. I put a new pulsation dampener on it and probably only drove it 15 miles.
The tranny has new bushings and a chopped shifter. It's smooth, but third grinds and whines if you shift into it fast, the backup light switch is also bad.
The User KahnArtist on this board can vouch for the drvetrain, he drove it a few nights ago.

Matching lock set(doors, hatch, and ign. if I can get it off), w/ 3 keys- $30
