whats taking care of these things like ? are they really loud with crazy noises ? do they stay in cages or what. I dont particularly like to lock animals up unless its something they are used to having as their secure place. Do they just run around like a cat all day or whatnot ?.
I guess Ill do some internet research but its good to hear it from others too.

yeah they are really awesome and they love being in their home! Thats why you need to get them a big cage so they have room to jump and play. They do make noise but not too much, when I only owned one I had it in my bedroom with me. Also, I do let my chins out to play from time to time, its just important to set up a safe play area for them (like the bathroom) they will love to play around with you! I am more than happy to help whoever want them with what to get and the cheapest places to go. THEY ARE AWESOME! This pair together inparticular is awesome... The gray one is very personable and active and the white one is timid and shy.

OP please sell them together or someone that already has a chinchilla. If seperated after they have bounded, there is a good chance they will stress out and die as they are communal animals.(Has happened to me with Malocclusion) They are sorta on the expensive side for a rodent to care for between dust baths, bedding, chew stones, temperature control and food. Also, chew stones are a must as their teeth continue to grow and will puncture their jaws if left unchecked.
They are amazing pets.

They are definately not expensive to me. chew stones last a very long time you dont need to change their bedding as often as other rodents, and my chins are usually fine at whatever temperature i'm at. And yes I know the importance of trying to keep them together but they will be fine for sure. People tend to put more hype on these animals than needed. I feel they are more affordable by far compared to my dog or cats.
