Re: Offroad Places
they dont discriminate, if you are crazy enough to take a hatchback out there they wont stop you, you wont get your vehicle inspected first, theres nobody out there to bother you, from the 3 times ive been honestly you could drive down the trail with a beer in your hand and a blunt hanging out your mouth and nobody is going to say anything. if you google map edinburg gap it will put you at the start of the trail, move the map left and follow the road to the gas stations, if you put your arrow on the map over the gas station it will give you the phone number. pharoh checked it out last weekend and said they open up the 3rd monday in march, im going probably the last sunday in march as long as i dont have to work. im in northern va, we should plan to ride out there or meet out there. good times

Re: Offroad Places
I would def' be down to roll out there. Would prolly be a long ride for me since i'm in suffolk but it would be worth it. Can anyone that has been there tell me how bad the trails are? I'm in a stock suspension 1500 dodge pickup. It rides high imo though for stock. Nearly fits 32s under it.

Re: Offroad Places
I have not been since 2005, but it was typical GWNF. Trails are narrow with some sharp switchbacks. Full size vehicles may get scratched from the vegetation. Stock to slightly modified should do fine. I think when we went we had ranger/explorer base vehicles on 31s+. No damage. You will need low range and driver experience helps. I beleive that there are two trails. They can be steep and rocky, with very litttle or mud. They are pretty close to DC 90-minutes. We did not get any permits when we went, but it has been a few years.
