Re: Offroad Places
We like the George Washington National Forest. Stoney Run (big levels) is fun but closeses for winter. Shoe creek (Crabtree Falls) is open and fun, no mud, several good creek crossings.
Crozet is fun but I find pure rock crawling to be more intense than I like.
Outer Banks is great for beach wheeling.

Re: Offroad Places
There is about a 75% chance you will get in trouble at 606 nowadays, cops are taking it seriously too people are getting arrested and having their trucks impounded. Cops were all over it when I used to wheel there like 2 years ago, now its worse.

i havent heard that there were arrests made at all. the most rumors i would hear were that all entrances got blocked and police pressence hieghtened. man nova is just startin to get a bit ridiculous bout things.

Re: Offroad Places
A guy I worked with got arrested for trespassing...not sure what ended up happening with that but I know he got taken in. Apparently Dulles airport either owns that land or has an easement there thats why they take it so seriously. I used to work right across the street so I heard about it all the time.

Re: Offroad Places
i do know for sure that dulles airport owns the land. rumor has it that either some of the land or all of it is crash landing area for planes. so i can see why they're gettin harsh about it but as well its a great spot thats been around for years.

Re: Offroad Places
The places I go to are. Rausch Creek Offroad park PA, Crozet, Big Dog's offroad, Big Boy's Offroad, Misty Mountain Campground has 2 jeep events annually. GWNF (Flagplole).
AND BTW
Alot of people aren't aware yet but Harrisonburg's GWNF (Salt Shed, Dry River, etc) ARE CLOSED!
The Town closed them last year, and it is trespassing to go back there now....there are signs and obstructions up there now.
