Does any one know what size motor ( 350 454) comes in a 1988 chevy silverado 3500 non diesel 4 wheel drive,

Its my daddies old truck i got from him i just cant find it with this dang Iraq internet

The guy my dad bought the truck from said it was 5th wheel drive has anyone heard of such a thing i have been around trucks my whole life and i havent heard of any thing of the such

could be a 350 or a 454...

check the size of the valve covers...if you can put your hand on them and touch the bolts on either side its a sbc if you cant its either a bbc or you have small hands

well i am in Iraq right now but i will tell my buddy to go try and do that

bbc valve covers will fit on top of sbc valve covers....that is a dead giveaway that its a bbc from 50 feet away...

but most trucks in 88 had the 350...

if nothing else have him call the dealer and give them the vin number...i think its the 8th digit gives them the motor size

5th wheel drive? You sure they didnt mean it has a 5th wheel hitch...gooseneck?

idk but my girl said its a 7.4 with i know is a 454 big block

being that its a 3500 i would lean more towards the 454...its a TBI 454 but still a big block.

and it probably means 5th wheel hitch for a gooseneck trailer, as stated above
