Default Muffler Suggestions

I have had the flowmaster original 40 series on my truck for almost 2 years now and I think its time for somthing new. I am trying to find somthing louder, but nothin crazy. I want it to be loud, but still sound good. Some people say just step up to the 40 series american thunder, and some say walk away from flowmaster.

well i will agree with Walk away from Flowmaster! I am a Magnaflow man, but the sound isnt louder so thats not what you want. If you want maximum power go with Magnaflow, if you want sound.....well I dont know what to tell ya.

The imco extreme is simply a flowmaster knockoff. The sound should be equivelant but not louder than a flowmaster. I sell exhaust for a living and used to sell IMCO mufflers.

The VX series by Goerlich(xlerator line)that slob18hatch is talking about is also a flowmaster knockoff. I sell this as well.

There is not a 40 series american thunder flowmaster... maybe you are confused with the super 40 or the deltaflow 40. The american thunder is an 80 series flowmaster and is a transverse style muffler made for cars like the f-bodies.

The only flowmaster that is really going to be louder than the original 40 is the flowmaster single chambers. These are tiny mufflers and will increase your sound a good bit.

IMCO and the Xlerator line also make a knockoff of the single chambers if you want a cheaper version.
