Default Installing basic lift on newer 4Runner with XREAS.

By buddy at work just bought a lift/leveling kit of some sort for his 2007 4Runner V8. His 4Runner is XREAS equipped. Are there any special steps or anything worth noting regarding removing the stock XREAS stuff. Is it something that can be done one corner at a time in a driveway or should we put it on the lift?

I don't know much about it other than it hydro-connects all for corners

::Edit:: Apparently it's a Radflo adjustable coilover kit which is obviously a little more intensive (in regard to XREAS) than a spacer style leveling kit.

Is he looking to remove the whole system? The Xreas system is pretty complex. What I'm seeing is the Xreas is a cross linked system. If you have any pressure on a wheel you will loose oil in the system and it will become useless. (will have to get it recharged) Once all the pressure is out of the system you can remove everything. If he's removing it completely I guess it doesn't matter if he looses the oil.

From everything I'm seeing everyone suggests that it makes it a lot easier to lift the whole vehicle. There are a ton of write ups on this site... www.toyota120.com

Everything I find worth a damn sends me to this post on another site.... Its a pretty good write up on it though...

Hope it helps.

Yeah he's getting rid of it all together. Draining the oil out of it isn't a concern.

check out toyota-4runner.org. They will definitely be able to help, and may have a write up for it.
