VADriven.com Forums - help with electric fan. im getting very aggravated

ok im gonna post this on here too. im STILL having problems getting my fan controller to detect and turn on my electric fan.
everything is wired per the manual, except for the ignition and ac wires, they goto manual override switches, with a 15a fuse for the safety of the switches before heading to the battery.
i was getting an error code for no fan detected, so after talking to the company they told me to send it in and they deactivated the diagnostics for free. he told me everything checked out ok on it.
im using a chevy hhr fan, and it works fine as i wired it up to the battery with a switch and ran it that way for awhile. so thats not the problem.
got the controller back and still nothing.
tested continuity on the fan-to-controller wires, perfect. tested for 12v on fan-to-controller wires, not so good. started at .3xxV and went up to .938V then slowly back down to .000V.
i went to test continuity of the ground wire, by my voltmeter doesnt register. i touched the tips together and i normally get .03ohm and now it just says .00ohm. if i try to test any wires or a metal screwdriver it doesnt register anything at all, no .00 shows up.

i am completely confused here. the controller and fan i bought from someone who had it working. now it doesnt work. fan works perfect, controller tested out ok. something HAS to be wrong with the wires. but now the damn voltmeter is acting weird.

this is the manual, as i said its all wired correctly. except the ignition and ac are on manual override switches with a 15a fuse. main controller fuse is 20a, chevy hhr fan has 18a at start up and runs on 12a i believe.
