Warn makes a hub conversion kit, I think you will need to contact Randy Ring and Pinion to get it now. Lift has many options, 1.5-inch spacer and shackle, 4 -inch brackets and SUA, 5.5 brackets and SUA and I think Skyjacker makes an 8-inch. Axles may be a problem with anything over 33s. You can do an explorer 8.8 rear axle swap (31-spline). I am not sure if you have the D28 0r 35. Try the rangerstation.com for everything teck.
I have a 91 explorer 5.5 inch superlift, 33x12.5x15 BFG KMs, 4.56 axle ratio, bilstien shocks, Imco cat back exhaust.

Here's a link to their tech library. http://therangerstation.com/tech_library/index.php
You can learn anything and everything you want to know about rangers from that place. Real good members on their too. Know what they're talking about. Just be sure to search a topic before askin a question as always, because most have been asked on there

Just make sure you do everything the right way, and no short-cuts. I didn't know much about lifting trucks my first truck/suv I had that was lifted, and I had a lot of problems with it.

Re: first truck...need advice
I had a magnaflow exhaust on my '03 4runner and it sounded really good.
edit: if you got big money I'd go with a borla exhaust though...they're beast.
