Buying a Diesel......Need some pointers
so im looking for my first diesel but im hoping for some pointers on what to get, actually i should re-say that cause im between an 05-06 f-250/350 or 04+ cummins, im terrified of the fords 6.0 but i heard the newer ones were not as bad and if you have the money and can change the head bolts and delete the egr or just drive it without a stupid tune you should be ok, how true is this?? and on the flip side the 04 cummins like i said is always an option even though they are next to impossible to find without shitty miles or trashed but they always have the crappy trannys and well there dodges, i know diesels run forever but i feel kinda crazy spending 20k+ on something with 100k on it, how much should i look at this? any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

Your price range was 20k+, if you look in the upper 20's you should be able to find something with lower miles. Also are you looking at King cabs or Regular cabs? Extended bed or short bed. All these things effect the price just as much as the engine. Finding a Single cab diesel should yeild pretty low miles in that price range. Especially if your looking at 05-06.

Re: Buying a Diesel......Need some pointers
very true but finding a decent cummins sucks, i dont think people want to get rid of them, im not so concerrned with tranny's as i am with the 6.0 and its problems, im not looking to mod this truck more than maybe an exhaust, i really am partial to fords im just seeing if there is any extra info to get from local people on them
