Re: ATV Trip to Welch WV, OCT 28-1st
i use to ride my 450r up there all the time. when my wife started going i started to ride the utility bikes. to answer your question, no you do not need a utility bike up there. a 2wd can go almost everywhere the utility bikes will go up there. there are some rocke but its not bad. if you have a stock swing arm skid you will be good. my buddy rides his 400 up there with no skids. at the min, i reccomend a swinger skid. i usually take my utility and sport bike and depending on how i feel depends on what i ride most of the time. the last time we went, they had flash floods so we could not ride the sports due to the creek bottoms being super high. some of the utilities had a rought time. it was the worse i have ever seen it up there as far as water and difficulty to ride. the guy that goes up there on the regular said that its back to normal now.

Re: ATV Trip to Welch WV, OCT 28-1st
I am planning a fall trip to Welch WV from October 28th through November 1st. We will be leaving the morning of the 28th and returning home mid afternoon on the 1st. I can carry ~8 large atvs in my trailer. Depending on how many go, someone may need to follow to carry people. If you just want to follow us up that is fine as well. We stay at a local hotel while we are there and have a local ride with us that knows the trails. We went up there in the spring and rode ~400 miles and still missed alot of the trails. We usually take a grill and cook out for dinner and cook breakfast in the rooms. If you do not want to cook, you can ride your atv into town and eat as well. The rooms are reasonably priced but I still need to call and check on the prices.
